Located one mile off the northern coast of the island of Eleuthera, Harbour Island is known as Home of the Friendly People. Thousands of visitors return to Harbour Island, year after year for it’s famous pink sand beaches, exquisite turquoise water, and warm welcoming people.
You can get to Harbour Island, Bahamas via commercial airlines or air charter flights into North Eleuthera Airport (ELH). If you are in the Bahamas, or certain points in Florida, Cuba, Haiti or Trinidad, you may book a flight on BahamasAir, or other international carriers like Pineapple Air.
Royal Palm Hotel is proud to announce that Harbour Island and North Eleuthera will have a great new carrier to use starting November 2016 Aztec Airways.
Once at North Eletheura (ELH) airport, getting to Harbour Island is quick and easy. You exit the airport terminal and take a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport to the “Three Island” boat dock. This will cost approximately $5-$6 per person. Next, you will jump into a water taxi (boat) and take a 10 minute water taxi ride to the island, (approximately $5-$6 per person). Land and water taxis are always available during the day. Water taxis will take you to the government (or main) dock on Harbour Island, and when you arrive, you can walk or take a taxi ride to Royal Palm Hotel, which is on the corner of Clarence and Dunmore Streets.
If you are in the Bahamas, you can take the Bahamas Fast Ferries from various islands. For instance, if you travel from Nassau directly to Harbour Island, when you arrive at the government dock on Harbour Island you can walk or take a taxi to Royal Palm Hotel, which is on the corner of Clarence and Dunmore Streets.
Once on Harbour Island, you may choose to rent a golf cart for on island transportation. We recommend renting from Mario’s On Da Spot Golf Cart Rental. Golf carts are available for $55 dollars per day. On Da Spot is located across the street from Royal Palm Hotel, but we recommend reserving your cart prior to arrival.
